Sony VAIO Fit 11A recall, battery burn warning

Sony MEA website is recalling certain models of the Sony Vaio Fit 11A laptops after reports of battery burn warnings surfaced – customers have been warned to stop using these laptops now.

The official statement from Sony said that their third party batteries supplied to them have had cases of batteries overheating, which has resulted in burns to the laptop.

Around about 26,000 Vaio Fit 11A devices have been supplied by Sony across 52 countries, Sony said, “In the meantime, as your safety is our primary concern, we ask again that you please refrain from using the below-listed models until you further hear from us in the program announcement.”

Look at the screenshot below; these are the target models to look out for, if you visit Sony MEA you can see where to look for the model number on your machine if you are having problems finding it.
